Quick Summer Update!

Hey guys, it’s me again.

For the small few who are reading this and for those who keep up with my writing, you’ve probably been wondering where I’ve been. Just wanted to give a quick and brief update: I haven’t given up on my blog! When the semester ended and summer hit, a whole new wave of priorities fell into my lap. Jobs, ministry internships, relationships, among other things. Naturally, these things take precedent over my writing so I’ve been on a temporary hiatus from the whole blog thing as I’ve focused my attention and energy on balancing new responsibilities and figuring out a routine & rhythm in this chapter of life. But don’t worry. I haven’t forgotten about you!

A few people have texted me here recently and asked me when I’m going to post my next blog.  I promise you the long wait is nearly over. I’ll be posting a series of articles over the next few weeks on some stuff God has been teaching me. In fact, I mentioned that the summer brought on new things. Well one of those things has been the fact that I deleted all my social media (Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) over two months ago and I just decided it was time to get back on.

How did it go, you ask? Great! I feel more focused, attentive, and just overall spiritually, mentally, and emotionally healthier. Don’t get me wrong, I had my fair share of difficulty with letting it go (as any addict does, of course), but it’s been very good for me to get back to seeing life in reality, not a virtual reality. With that being said, I want to write a couple blogs over the next few weeks sharing some of the insights I’ve drawn from disconnecting, as well as shine a light on some more of the negative ways I think social media is affecting us and how the gospel transforms the way we approach social media.

With all that being said, be on the lookout for my next post! It’s coming soon. Nice catching up with you guys. See ya on the flippity.
